Deep Sea Fishing in KZN South Africa Kwa Zulu Natal, situated on the East Coast of South Africa is home to warm sub tropical waters and a diverse marine life. Here deep sea fishing is good all year round and as the seasons change there is a variety of fish species that can be caught. From September to May we have good Game Fishing with the peak season being in the Summer months, November to March. Reef fishing is generally good all year and the main fishing done in the winter months. Durban is our home port and where we operate most of our deep sea charters, our boat is mobile and so we often do deep sea charters in Richards Bay and Shelly Beach and in the Summer Months Cape Vidal and Sodwana Bay are very popular for Game Fishing. |

Richards Bay Deep Sea Fishing Richards Bay is more Tropical than Durban, there is generally good fishing here throughout the year with excellent game fishing in the summer months and the summer season is longer with Dorado (Dolphin Fish, Mahi Mahi), King Mackerel (Couta), Barracuda, Queen Mackerel (Natal Snoek), Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, Queenfish, King Fish (GT, Jacks), Amber Jacks, Sharks, Bonito, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin and Striped Marlin being found in these waters. There is also a huge variety of Reef fish available through out the year and the winter season is short with good fishing for a variety of species. We launch from Richards Bay Harbour. |

Sodwana Bay Deep Sea Fishing Sodwana Bay is set in a reserve, the game fishing is excellent here and the summer season is long with Dorado (Dolphin Fish, Mahi Mahi), King Mackerel (Couta), Barracuda, Queen Mackerel (Natal Snoek), Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, Queenfish, King Fish (GT, Jacks), Amber Jacks, Sharks, Bonito, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin and Striped Marlin being found in these waters. Sodwana Bay is a premier Game Fishing destination, with some of the best Game fishing available along our coastline. There is no reef fishing allowed here due to the area being a Marine Sanctuary. Here we launch through the surf, and limit our trips to only 2 guests for safety reasons. Day trips are possible, but it is best to book for 3 days or longer. |

Durban Deep Sea Fishing Durban is our home waters, there is generally good fishing here throughout the year with excellent game fishing in the summer months with Dorado (Dolphin Fish, Mahi Mahi), King Mackerel (Couta), Barracuda, Queen Mackerel (Natal Snoek), Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, Queenfish, King Fish (GT, Jacks), Tropical Yellow Tails, Sharks, Bonito, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin and Striped Marlin being found in these waters. There is also a huge variety of Reef fish available through out the year and the Queen Mackerel are available all year. In the winter we get our annual Sardine Run and we get our 2 Salmon Species Kob (Kabeljou, Daga Salmon, Drum Salmon) & Geelbek (Cape Salmon, Teraglin) and we get Garrick (Leervis). We launch from Durban Harbour. |

Record Sailfish caught off Durban In June of 2008 we caught a record size Sailfish off Durban which exceeded the South African Record by some 5.1Kg (11.2lbs) from our boat. The fight duration lasted 1hr 15 min on light tackle with one of our 5’6” Elbe Ski Pro Rods and (10.9Kg) 24lb line. The Sailfish measured 3.57m from the lower bill to the tail fork. We did not claim an official record as we did not want to kill the Sailfish which was successfully released immediately after capture and photographs.
